A well-known houseplant, the Spider Plant can be found naturally in the South Pacific and South Africa. The Spider Plant has distinctive variegated foliage which resembles large blades of grass. With the right care the Spider Plant will produce small flowers that eventually turn into Spider Plant babies or Spiderettes!

This plant is grown in a peat-free medium, so you may find that the top soil tends to dry out a little faster – but don’t worry, just use your finger and test to see if the top 2-3 inches of soil are still moist, to avoid overwatering. You’ll also want to treat your plant to fertiliser during growing season, as you won’t find the same nutrients in this mix as you’d find in traditional soil.
